Specific price or best offer?

Attracting
yard salers

Do you really want to sell it?

Specific Price or Best Offer

There is a serious debate going on in the yard sales
world. How important is it to stick to a specific price,
or to allow a customer to make a best offer.
There are many things to consider in this debate.

If a customer at a yard sale were to make an offer for a
toaster marked for three dollars, should the seller sell
the toaster for a dollar or should the toaster be sold at
full price? This requires looking at all of the possibilities.

For instance, if the man selling the toaster's wife set the price
on the toaster, it might be wise for the man tokeep the price
on the toaster at three dollars. That is, unless he is looking for
an argument. If, however, the goal is to make money, than taking
the offer would be the smart decision.

There is also the art of haggleing to consider. Perhaps,
if in the mood, the seller could make a counter offer,
hoping to bring the price back up slightly. Why not?

At any rate, this debate will continue, and it really boils down to the equation at hand.
